Carbon paste is a conductive coating applied by screen printing for printing on copper areas as a substitute of more expensive technologies of gilding of contacts and connectors. It can also be used for printing jumpers on printed circuit boards instead of wiring jumpers. Carbon paste reaches the typical contact resistance < 100 Ohm per square, specified for circuits switched by a push button with a graphite capsule, with lifespan up to 1 million cycles.
Spots for application of carbon paste have to be enlarged compared to spots in the pattern by 0,3mm. The isolating gap among individual areas of carbon paste has to be bigger than 0,5mm. The standard thickness of the applied carbon paste is 15 - 30µm.
